The most historical monuments in Poland, open-minded residents, and natural flavors – Lower Silesia: “Attractive for summer. Attractive for years.” A new campaign is launching to promote and support the region after the flood. Lower Silesia is the perfect place to spend your holidays and weekends… Not just this year.

A guarantee of successful holidays, beautiful locations, and interesting attractions: Lower Silesia. The most diverse region in the country will launch a new promotional campaign under the slogan “Attractive for summer. Attractive for years.” After the flood in September 2024, the region was hit by another wave, a wave of cancellations. Not only businesses and facilities in the areas hit by the floods suffered, but also those located in safe locations, those that were not physically damaged. Tourism in Lower Silesia came to a standstill last fall, and businesses in the region are still grappling with the consequences.

A new initiative by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Government aims to encourage Poles to spend their holidays in Lower Silesia and support local communities and businesses affected by the floods.

“I always say that Lower Silesia is an extraordinary region – with a rich history, beautiful nature, and hospitable people. Today, we need solidarity – not mercy. By choosing a holiday in Lower Silesia, you choose not only an unforgettable vacation but also concrete support for residents and businesses struggling to return to normalcy. We want to show that Lower Silesia is attractive not only for the summer, but also for years to come. Spas, the Sudetes, bike paths, mountain fortresses and trails, picturesque ponds, and historic towns – our region has something for everyone and allows for frequent returns, always surprising tourists with new, interesting locations,” emphasizes Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Zachęcam do śledzenia dolnośląskich profili w mediach społecznościowych i do zapoznania się z naszymi atrakcjami – mówi Michał Rado, Wicemarszałek Województwa Dolnośląskiego.

The promotional campaign was launched at the Kłodzko Fortress.

“We, as municipalities that suffered here in the Kłodzko region, directly and indirectly as a result of the flood, continue to experience a decline in the number of visitors. This is a valuable and necessary initiative, one of the latest support we receive from the region, for which we sincerely thank you. Let’s invite all tourists to the Kłodzko region, to Kłodzko, to the fortress, and to all our attractions, because your visit will help speed up its recovery,” adds Michał Piszko, Mayor of Kłodzko.

And tourists are sure to find fascinating monuments, stories, and picturesque places.

“The Kłodzko Fortress is a site with over a thousand years of history. We are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with several tour routes for both children and adults.” Events, offers for organized groups, and incredible underground passages await – invites Dawid Jakubowski, Director of the Kłodzko Fortress.

“We dream of another siege of the fortress – a siege by tourists, and an arsenal of attractions already awaits. We would like to make it clear that our facility, the Kłodzko Fortress, is well prepared to welcome tourists. The flood gave us all a hard time, but it’s over now, and the facility offers new attractions. We invite you to the 20th anniversary Kłodzko Fortress Days on August 9th, when hundreds of reenactors will entertain tourists,” invites Kornel Drążkiewicz, Deputy Director of the Kłodzko Fortress.

Lower Silesia is also attracted by its spa resorts, which are the most numerous in Poland.

“The Kłodzko region is not only about tourism, but also spa treatments, so we also invite you to take advantage of the services offered by the Kłodzko Spas, which have facilities located in Polanica-Zdrój, Duszniki-Zdrój, and Kudowa. These are places where you can not only relax but also improve your health by taking advantage of the healing properties of the climate. They are an excellent base for visiting attractions in the area,” emphasizes Tomasz Pełyński, President of the Kłodzko Spas.

Tourism is one of the most important industries in the region.

“In 2024, tourists spent PLN 7.5 billion in Lower Silesia. This amount would have been higher if not for the flood. That’s why we’re thrilled by this campaign, which aims to bring the region closer to all Poles and tourists from abroad and demonstrate that the quality of tourism services in Lower Silesia has not suffered,” says Jakub Feiga, Director of the Lower Silesian Tourist Organization.

The campaign will run from June until the end of the summer holidays. Its goal is not only to attract tourists, but also to rebuild a sense of security and development prospects in places most affected by last year’s disaster.
